We’ve suggested MegaBus in the past, but we recommend OuiBus even more.
We nabbed a ticket last minute from Paris to Rennes on our way to our host in Brehan for €8.00 each.
OuiBus is a part of the SNCF group which we’ve booked a lot of our tickets through while in France.
At this point, it was way cheaper than taking the train. Actually, we’ve come to find busses in France to be a lot cheaper than taking the train. Take advantage of this.
When you nab a budget ticket, you probably expect a less than luxury ride. But OuiBus was spacious, comfortable and efficient.
Our four hour ride was perfect for taking a much needed nap after waking up at 5 am. And the trays helped us get any extra work in while we travelled.
Our driver was friendly and courteous, and you could tell they cared about the cleanliness and modernity of their fleet.
So what’s the process?
Either grab the app and browse for tickets, or hop onto their website.
We used our MasterCard to book tickets on the app. Don’t worry about tracking down a printer as digital copies from your email or app work as your pass.
OuiBus allows for two pieces of luggage (one large and one carry-on) and it’s up to you to store your bags underneath. For us, it’s better than having a driver toss your bags on-board.
Never have we dreaded getting off a bus to our destination, but the ride was comfy and warm enough that we could have ridden for another few hours with no problem.
OuiBus often has cheap fares and deals on their website so always check for updates.
Happy (comfy) travels!
